Why I do What I do?
Updated: Aug 29, 2020
I am a Mind, Body, and Soul Coach, I help women align their mind body and soul. So that all parts of them are working toward the same thing. It is deep work. I start by teaching them how to tap into that deeper part of themselves the Soul. The light of who they truly are. There, they find the things that their soul is yearning for. There, they can find their natural gifts and talents. Those things that their heart and soul really want. I guide them on how to really OWN these because oftentimes these are things that they have hidden because it makes them different than everyone else and they have been teased a ridiculed for them. They are the things that lead them to their passion and purpose. When you own these it pulls you back into alignment. You start to show up in the world as who you truly are instead of the way the world around you tells you, you should be. They start to feel free.
They soon learn that those around them don't understand. Those around them want them to be the way they were. I help guide them through this. I help them stay in their truth, so they can stay in alignment with who they truly are. I help them navigate their new path because it is new and different. A new journey into the unknown which can be much easier to navigate with a guide that has been on this journey. It is such an honor and a privilege to help others in such a deep and meaningful way.
I have been on this journey. I used to work in the corporate world as a retail manager. In the beginning, I loved this job. It was a place where I could shine. It was a place where most of the time I could learn and grow. I was encouraged by my superiors. There were times when I would be doing personal growth work and the company would have training that that was in line with what I was working on. As I advance in the company I was able to help others learn and grow as well. I loved being able to help others in this way, to encourage them, and to see them shine. It was a place where I felt like I was doing what I was supposed to be doing and helping others. Until it wasn't! The company sold to a large conglomerate. When this happened all that was important was the bottom line. They didn't really care about anything else. This felt so awful. My job had shifted from helping others around me learn and grow to spending all of my time doing all the things that the company thought was necessary to drive the bottom line. Then it got worse as part of the company's cost-saving measures they had layoffs. They decided to layoff a single mother of 5, and they wanted me to do my job plus hers. I felt horrible and I had to do the job of 2 people. UGH! Talk about a guilt-fear sandwich! There was chaos inside of me. Not only did I feel horrible about the mom losing her job, but I felt like I was going to fail in my increased role. I was lost in a downward spiral of fear stress and overwhelm. ( My dark night of the soul.) I was not productive. I Couldn’t focus. I made bad hiring choices and I became the bad manager I feared I’d be. In one of those “bring you to your knees moments,” I asked what I should do. The answer… “my job was not the end all be all, there was more to life.” This made me laugh. It gave me peace. It gave me perspective. It made me stronger. It also reminded me that my inner wisdom is my superpower. I started searching and I was guided to coaching. Where I help others learn and grow and shine their light.
